The Small Business Administration helps Americans start, build, and grow businesses. Through an extensive network of field offices and partnerships, the Small Business Administration supports and protects the interests of small businesses. The Office of the General Counsel (OGC) provides comprehensive legal services to the Administrator and all Agency offices. These legal services include consulting, analyzing and interpreting statutes, regulations and other sources of law, as well as preparing legislative, regulatory and other documents. The Office legally represents the Agency in judicial and administrative proceedings, hearings and appearances, and consultations with other governmental and non-governmental bodies. The CMO is responsible for the Agency`s ethics program and ensures that Agency staff comply with the Code of Ethics.
