Registration in lockers is on a first-come, first-served basis. There are not enough lockers for all law students. We recommend that you register for the TWEN course before the registration period begins if you have problems registering for the course. First-year students will receive a WestLaw password and training on TWEN during on-campus technology training at the end of August. If you wish to register for a locker, please follow these instructions: The Faculty of Law is not responsible for the contents of your locker. Do not leave valuables in your locker, especially in summer, as they are sometimes vandalized. If your locker is vandalized, you must report it to the University of Michigan Police Department by email at dpss-safety-security@umich.edu (or by phone at 734.763.1131) and to the Office of Student Records by email at lawrecords@umich.edu. You must also report the vandalism to Lindsey Stetson by email. To meet the needs of students, we have a limited number of lockers available free of charge at the Faculty of Law.

Not all students need or want a locker. Consider enrolling if you have physical limitations that make it difficult to carry books for more than one class at a time, or if you are a suburban student who will be in the building for extended periods of time. Please check the locker card in the Faculty of Law building before registering. Below are instructions for registering lockers for the 2019-2020 school year: If you have any questions about lockers, please contact Student Affairs. We will provide lockers for all students. These lockers are located in Room 404 on the fourth floor of the MPAA and Room 311 on the third floor of the MPAA. To obtain a locker assignment, you must click Next, read the locker policy on the next page, and complete the locker application form. If you wish to re-register your organization`s current record, please follow these instructions: If you graduate in spring or summer 2019, you can keep your 2018-2019 registered record until Sunday, August 4, 2019 without re-registering it. All other students attending the Summer 2019 course and/or returning in Fall 2019 will need to follow these instructions: Lockers can be used until the completion date. If, after registering a record, you decide to switch to another, please complete the online form again and provide the old and new locker number.

Once finished, remove your lock and all contents from the locker. Graduate lockers will be emptied the week following graduation. If there is still a lock in your application after the completion date, it will be cut and the contents of the locker will be discarded. Law students can use the lockers in the basement of Hutchins Hall and those in the basement locker room across from the elevator. Any locker without a lock can be claimed for use by any student. Each student can register and use a locker. Find an empty locker and put your padlock on it. Then fill out the online locker registration form. Leave your lock at your locker at all times (even in summer while you are still registered). There are changing rooms and showers on the lower level of Jeffries Hall for the use of the law school community. You must request special MCard access to use these rooms. Once access to the cloakroom has been granted, you can access it until your card expires. The locker rooms are located on the first and second floors of the classroom and law library. Students must provide their own padlocks. We will do our best to accommodate all requests. If you are assigned a locker, you should receive your locker assignment within one week. In the event that the Student Affairs Office needs to clean a locker, not only will there be a $20.00 fee, but the contents of the locker will be discarded or donated. If these fees are not paid to Student Affairs, your account will be withheld, which will prevent you from registering for courses, receiving your graduation or receiving your diploma.
