Anyone living in the north and north-west of New South Wales can access our service for free and confidential legal advice and assistance. Create a fairer and fairer society through free and confidential legal advice and support. The office will employ a lawyer and legal counsel. As a general legal department, we can, through this office, work with other legal service providers in the region whose needs lie outside their areas of work and within ours. Moree`s office will be able to provide general assistance to the community in the following areas: family law issues (excluding property settlement and maintenance issues), power of attorney and permanent guardianship, wills (excluding real estate), consumer complaints, credit and debt issues, discrimination, employment and labor issues, criminal law, traffic offences, support for victims, neighbourhood conflicts, concerned Ordinances for violence, problems with young people and assistance in cases of domestic and family violence. Our research shows that free estate planning assistance is an important gap in the Moree area that our service can fill. Our number 1 area of support within our department is the preparation of wills, powers of attorney (POA) and permanent guardianship (EG) documents. Our community rights education project, which is most often awarded to community groups and organizations, is similar to wills, POA & EG. We look forward to promoting and making it easier for Moree to provide this type of support and education.
Contact our office if you are not sure about your legal rights and obligations or what to do next. Our goal is to help anyone who has difficulty accessing the legal system or does not know how to access it. We provide free and confidential legal advice and support to anyone living in New England and the Northwest. Our staff of 5 lawyers travel regularly around the region to 12 outreach locations to provide personal legal advice and training. The North & North West Community Legal Service is currently working on opening a second office in Moree NSW. Moree is located in the northwest region of our catchment area with 7383 inhabitants. Our goal is to put this office into operation from the beginning of January 2020. Through Moree`s office, we look forward to participating in inter-agency meetings in the western regions of our catchment area, including participation in CLSD meetings in Moree. We look forward to strengthening the paths for customers between us and other service providers and working to eliminate escalation of issues and thus achieve timely and positive results for customers. The North and Northwest Community Legal Service is an accredited member of the National Association of Community Legal Centres with offices in Armidale and Moree NSW.
Our most recent project on family and family violence in Armidale – “Corporate violence affects everyone, including the smallest” – was presented to early childhood educators. Its success has been so great that we want to expand this project to other locations in our catchment area to educate participants about the following: We are an accredited member of the National Association of Community Legal Centers. We are currently supporting ADVO training in our judicial liaison programme in the Tenterfield and Armidale regions and look forward to expanding knowledge in the Moree area through front-line training and customer support to reduce the risk of COA breaches.
